The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for five full-time (1.0 FTE) Area Substitute Elementary Generalist(s). The successful candidates will be put on a Temporary Contract with Rocky View Schools starting immediately until May 15, 2025. This position requires travel and the successful candidate must be willing to travel to different areas around the division (Airdrie, Cochrane, and Chestermere).

The schedule will vary from school to school and will be handled by a Learning Specialist under the direction of the Director of Instructional Leadership.
Successful candidates will possess:
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial environment, with all members of the learning community
Understanding of and commitment to a teaching style congruent with RVS' vision, mission, and beliefs
Strong pedagogical understanding as it relates to a variety of curricula
Ability to quickly engage students in their learning while ensuring a classroom climate of respect and safety
Communication in French is an asset
Pre-employment Requirements
The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
This position is not open to those holding a Continuing Teacher contract with RVS.
The successful can didate must possess, or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide Human Resources with an original of their Teacher Qualifications Service (TQS) document.
