Our expectations

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, the Advisor, Communications will work with multiple business units to ensure engaging communications that promote engagement with different stakeholders, both internally and externally.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing and creating content for the various internal communication tools and will participate in the planning, development, and execution of internal and external communication strategies that support RONA inc.’s business objectives.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative person, who thrives on challenges and projects of all scopes, and who is able to manage different IT tools.

Your role

  • Manage and coordinate the distribution of communications via our internal (intranet, TVs, etc.) and external (corporate website) communication tools
  • Create content for various internal and external communication tools, including large-scale corporate events throughout the year
  • Support internal clients with the development and execution of effective communication strategies that contribute to the organization’s business objectives
  • Coordinate communications initiatives with external service providers
  • Build strong relationships with the company’s stakeholders and propose and implement effective communication strategies to position key projects using targeted tactics, both internally and externally
  • Create messages for internal clients, including speeches, video scripts, presentations, and written messages for internal or external use
  • Promote and protect the reputation of RONA inc. and its banners
  • Contribute to the preparation of press kits (key messages, press releases, Q&A documents, company positioning, etc.)

The qualifications we are looking for

  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in communications
  • Experience managing a corporate intranet
  • Good writing and editing skills
  • Willingness and ability to develop new communication tools
  • Proficiency in different internal communication tools, including SharePoint (an asset)
  • Strong business ethics (strict observance of confidentiality) and good judgment
  • Strong listening, collaboration, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to dissect key messages and simplify information for target internal and external audiences
  • Proven priority-setting skills
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Great rigour and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to advise internal customers
