Our expectations

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Strategy and Optimization, the Manager, Vendor Performance is responsible to lead and optimize RONA’s vendor performance and compliance program. The program is built on a foundation of clear expectations, consistent communication and data-driven decision-making. with the expressed goal of reducing costs, minimizing disruptions and improving operational efficiency.

Supported by a team of analysts, the Manager regularly tracks vendor performance against measurable KPIs including on-time delivery, fill-rate and compliance to quality and shipping standards. The Manager is expected to conduct regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss performance results, expectations and improvement plans. The Manager will support, train and encourage vendors to adopt best practices allowing for performance standard to be met or exceeded delivering value to the organization.

The Manager will monitor and contribute to the operations of the program on a monthly cycle including the key steps of calculating and publishing performance fines and non-compliance penalties, sharing the reports to the vendors, managing the review and dispute resolution process. Challenges will be reviewed and evaluated on a basis of fair and balanced agreements. At the end of each cycle, the charges will be finalized and reconciled with collaboration from finance and accounting stakeholders.

Your role
  • Lead the vendor performance and compliance program by establishing and maintaining measurable KPIs, including on-time delivery, fill rates, and adherence to quality and shipping standards.
  • Regularly track, analyze, and report vendor performance data, using insights to drive decision-making and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Conduct regular meetings with internal teams and external vendors to communicate performance results, clarify expectations, and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with underperforming vendors, providing guidance, training, and best practice recommendations to help them achieve performance goals and deliver greater value.
  • Establish and coordinate task forces with relevant stakeholders to ensure that recurring issues are tackled and resolved until their complete resolution.
  • Oversee the monthly financial cycle of the program, including calculating fines and penalties, publishing reports, and managing the review and dispute resolution process in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Partner with finance and accounting teams to finalize and reconcile charges at the end of each cycle, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to refine the vendor performance program, leveraging data, feedback, and collaboration to drive continuous improvement and stronger vendor relationships.
  • Act as subject matter expert that advocates for the important of the program and influences other business stakeholders to act as trained and efficient spokespersons for its objectives
The qualifications we are looking for
  • At least 5 years of experience and progression in roles within the distribution, logistics or transportation sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, logistics, engineering, operational research, or a related field
  • Proficiency with MS Access, MS Excel tools
  • Experience in the retail sector, with a large national distributor or transportation/logistics service provider (an asset)
  • Stakeholder management skills: demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders and collaborative processes, as well as to engage, coach and empower peers and other functional leaders through influence
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills; proactive approach and willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions
  • Organizational skills and rigor; proven track record of completing tasks efficiently, on time and under pressure, and of effectively managing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams at all levels of the organization and across functions in a complex environment
