Our expectations
The Category Specialist is responsible for the introduction of new supplier products in his/her category to the RONA system.
Your role
Is the primary support and liaison to the Category Review, Merchandising and Supplier group for all aspects of the product configuration process. Includes the collection of supply chain data and product marketing characteristics based on the category guide for all categories under his/her responsibility.
Actively collaborates with product teams to obtain all necessary data related to a category revision.
Represents the Master Data Management team at category review meetings for both project launches and follow-up meetings.
Accompanies the merchandiser throughout the creation process.
Validates the category assortment, the list of products related to the project, and ensures that the merchandisers/import team provide key product information and descriptions according to the project schedule.
Accompanies and guides suppliers through the product creation process.
Validates the conformity, consistency and quality of data received in the supplier portal, while respecting the category guide.
Follows up with suppliers to ensure that deadlines are met and that all required information is published.
Releases approved products into the supplier portal and communicates creations to the team for input.
Sets up follow-up meetings with category review specialists and merchandisers.
Maintain category progress reports
Communicates the status of the item creation project to the Category Review Specialist.
Provide the WEB agent with a complete list of project items for publication.
