We are looking for a Stationary Engineer - Class 1 for a Class 1 plant.
Based at our Montreal plant, the holder of this unionized position will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of the thermal plant so that steam is continuously supplied to our equipment to meet production needs.
Our Benefits- Unionized, permanent position, 36 hours paid per week.
- Salary of $43/hour upon hiring, with additional bonuses.
- Schedule: 3 days of 12-hour shifts (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), followed by 6 days off.
- Rotating shift schedule (day/night: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).

- Operate the boilers and monitor various parameters such as manometers, flow meters, air and water flow indicators, temperatures, pressure, certain compressors, and pumps.
- Perform visual checks of equipment and supervise control panels to start or stop the boilers in response to variable loads.
- Ensure the quality of the boiler feedwater (water testing) and, if necessary, add the required chemicals to treat the water according to the plant’s recommended standards.
- Apply specific safety rules for the thermal plant.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel consumption (operations, natural gas, bunker).
- Perform first-level mechanical maintenance and lubrication on boilers, pollution control devices, and other machinery.
- Hold a diploma in Stationary Engineer (DEP) and a "Class 1" qualification card.
- Experience in maintenance mechanics.
- At least 5 years of experience in an industrial setting.
- Interest in problem-solving / troubleshooting.
- Dynamism, resourcefulness, autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
