Job Overview - Transport & Production Supervisor
As a key member of the plant's management team, the supervisor will need to be a motivator, both in daily management and in areas related to Health and Safety. They should be able to question processes and have a deep knowledge of best practices in manufacturing industries as well as budget management. The supervisor will also be heavily involved in most projects related to the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize the performance and utilization of human and material resources
- Ensure coordination of production and transport activities
- Regularly review human resource needs to ensure required production volumes are met
- Take necessary actions and follow up to achieve performance objectives
- Manage large-scale projects impacting the plant, including schedules and budgets
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing best practices and required controls to maintain quality
- Lead weekly team meetings
- Actively develop and coach all team members
- Take responsibility for maintaining the volume from existing suppliers while strengthening the relationship and commitment to Sanimax
- Prepare and manage the budget, explaining any variances, profits, and/or
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resource management
- Experience in a unionized environment (an asset)
- Bilingualism is an asset, both spoken and written
- Strong experience in process optimization and continuous improvement
- Ability to adapt to change and demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP-type computer systems (an asset)
- Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels, both in small and large groups
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage by objectives and results, effectively manage time, handle multiple tasks, and analyze and solve problems
- Decision-making ability, team motivation, rigor, dynamism, initiative, creativity, autonomy, and excellent communication and teamwork skills
