School District 10 (Arrow Lakes) has the following temporary teaching position for the 2024-2025 school year:
Position: Primary Classroom Teacher (Kindergarten)
School: Nakusp Elementary School
FTE: 1.0 Temporary
Effective: September 3, 2024 December 31, 2024, or with notice of return of incumbent, or with possibility of extension.
Salary Range: $63,192 - $112,685

Required characteristics and strengths include:
Ability to plan and design engaging primary learning activities throughout the curriculum
Post-secondary education and experience in primary teaching and early learning
Strong skills in teaching and assessing early literacy and numeracy
Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learners
Successful experience co-planning and co-teaching for student success
Strong interpersonal skills and strengths working in a team environment
Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and community
Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulated learning
Demonstrated understanding of indigenous cultures, and experience integrating First Peoples of Principles of Learning into teaching practice
Successful experience in facilitating outdoor learning experiences with a focus on place consciouses and cross curricular learning
Commitment to co-developing the School Growth Plan and collaboratively organizing for learning
Exemplary use of assessment strategies that engage learners and foster learning
Professional learning inquiry experience that informs professional practice
Willingness to participate in school and/or district Professional Learning Communities will be an asset
Willingness to participate in the school's extra-curricular programs will be an asset
