Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. There are a total of 51 school sites with 33 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (K-12). Elementary School Counsellors

Applicants must have:

a professional teaching certificate;

a minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience;

a master’s degree recognized by the Teacher Regulation Branch in counselling psychology (or a related discipline with a focus in counselling);

training and/or experience as an Elementary School Counsellor as per School District Policy #510 and #510R;

Preference will be given to those applicants who:

have both training and experience as a School Counsellor;

have experience with grades K-6 age groupings;

have Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
