Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: Immediately until not later than June 30, 2025

There will also be required in-service for the successful candidate to complete.

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

• Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.

• Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.

• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.

• practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Special Education Services

• demonstrated ability to effectively carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum-based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods, administration, and interpretation of Level B Assessments (ex. WIAT, PPVT, Key Math)

• demonstrated effective experience with and knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of special needs and learning disabilities, and to plan Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions

• knowledge of and demonstrated effective experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of IEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student, and district personnel

• demonstrated understanding of and effective experience in teaching students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, autism, chronic health and physical disabilities, and multiple disabilities as defined by the Ministry of Education

• extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment

• knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education’s current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment

• experience in using the MyEd information system and experience entering IEPs into this program

• demonstrated ability to understand and use the necessary computer programs and online forms required for the responsibilities of this position

• knowledge of and demonstrated effective ability in addressing the wide range of academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of children

• demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage a time schedule that requires excellent organizational and communication skills

• demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage EA schedules

• demonstrated commitment and willingness to work collaboratively with staff, parents and administration in order to support all students through an RTI system and student-centered model

• demonstrated experience in providing push-in Tier 2 intervention

• demonstrated experience using a variety of small group teaching methods (ex. guided reading, Orton-Gillingham, Reading Recovery)

• demonstrated experience in teaching using a balanced literacy approach

• demonstrated effective classroom management, behaviour management and organizational skills

• demonstrated commitment to becoming involved and positively contributing to the culture of the school and commitment to support PBS and school-wide initiatives

• demonstrated commitment to continuing Professional Development
