The successful candidate will work closely with other members of Learning Services.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in all areas of this teaching assignment knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, curriculum and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.a valid BC Teaching certificate and Halq'eme'ylem Language Fluency Teaching Certificate or adequate training and experience with Halq'eme'ylem Languagedemonstrated ability and commitment to language learning experiences that incorporates language and cultural experiences as per the First Peoples Principles of Learning and culture-based education, pedagogy and instructional practicesknowledge of language learning/teaching pedagogy, assessment and reportingdemonstrated knowledge and understanding of Stó:lo cultural practices, education, history and protocolsa minimum of 5 years teaching experience at the middle and secondary leveldemonstrated experience of collaboration with Indigenous community partners/networks as per Halq'eme'ylem language learningdemonstrated evidence of strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be innovative and creative to support student learningdemonstrated classroom management and organizational skillspreference may be given to candidates of Indigenous descent valid BC driver's licenseInformation Contact: Brenda Point, District Principal Indigenous Education (604) 794-5553
