The Elementary Band Teacher will:

organize the scheduling of grade 7 elementary band programs in designated schools, after consultation with individual school staffs, administration, parents and students;

implement the program in keeping with District and Ministry expectations;

promote effective elementary/secondary articulation;

ensure care, inventory and maintenance of school equipment;

provide opportunities for the acquisition and development of individual and group skills.

Beaver Creek

Boundary Park

Cougar Creek

JT Brown

McLeod

Panorama Park

WE Kinvig

Minimum academic qualifications/experience:

valid B.C. Teaching Certificate;

proficiency on instruments related to the school band;

satisfactory practicum/teaching experience in band instrumental instruction.

Preferred qualifications/experience

Experience in choral and core music instruction.

Reporting structure

The personnel in this position are accountable in the execution of their assigned duties to a Director of Instruction.

Assignment FTE may be awarded to multiple applicants. If you are interested in less than 0.7FTE, please indicate the FTE you are applying for in your application package.

Salary range is $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service, FTE and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
