SUMMARY:

Reports to and works under the direction of the District Principal, Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders (POPARD). Performs administrative, secretarial, library, cataloguing, registration, desktop publishing, website administration, and accounting duties to support the library and training functions of POPARD.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of a Secondary school graduation program or equivalent. Completion of post-secondary secretarial or office administration courses including an accounting component equivalent to six months.

Completion of a Library Technician's Diploma program.

Completion of the Provincial Resource Program Autism Inservice and Training Course is an asset.

Minimum of three years recent, relevant and related clerical/secretarial experience, including one year of library technician experience, and experience with Adobe Captivate and Adobe Connect, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient in the use of all MS Office programs, e-mail programs, Internet, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Boardmaker; familiarity with website content management and HTML coding.

Ability to work independently, set priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task, and use initiative and independent judgement, and handle a high volume of detailed work quickly and accurately with frequent interruptions. Excellent organizational, communication (both written and oral), and interpersonal skills. Excellent grammatical skills are required.

Ability to use a wide variety of office equipment.

Physically capable of performing the duties of the position. Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.

Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
