SUMMARY:
Reports to the Director and/or the District Manager of Learning Services - Equity & Success, and may work under the direction of the department's administrative assistant, to provide a wide variety of administrative/clerical services to support activities within the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent, plus secretarial or office procedure courses of up to 6 months in duration.
Minimum of 1-year recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A broad understanding and experience in word processing (55 w.p.m.), spreadsheet applications and computerized accounting systems.
Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Access.
Knowledge of CLASS registration package and School Books is an asset.
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to adult education and secondary school graduation requirements in BC. knowledge of Ministry requirements for Challenge, Equivalency and External Credits is an asset.
Ability to work with various types of office equipment.
Ability to work independently and to handle multiple tasks despite numerous interruptions. Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information.
Ability to handle a high volume of detailed clerical work quickly and accurately. Ability to work as a team member.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
