SUMMARY:
Reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and the Mechanical Manager and works under the direction of the Foreman - Electrical. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation tasks (including renovations and modifications) on electrical systems and equipment. Performs minor elements of other trades.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of a Secondary school graduation program or equivalent.
Completion of BC Trades Qualification or Inter-Provincial Certificate in Electrical with a Red Seal endorsement.
Familiarity and experience working on fire alarm systems is considered an asset.
Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade. Skill in the use of tools of the trade.
Ability to read blueprints, specifications and electrical schematics.
Ability to safely operate and maintain a large variety of machinery.
Valid B.C. Driver's Licence. Safe driving record.
Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to use judgement when providing information.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew.
Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes and methods.
Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits.
Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
Electrical FSR Holder is an asset.
Experience working with Fire Alarm systems is preferred.
Experience working with security systems is an asset.
Experience working on 347 Volt equipment and circuits preferred.
