The Burnaby School District is on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish.
The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. The District is seeking an experienced Diploma and Community Education Program Coordinator. This position is regular, full time. Reporting to the Director of Instruction, the Program Coordinator for Diploma and Community Education is responsible for development and implementation of General Interest Programs, Career & Vocational Programs, Industry Education Programs and Certificate & Diploma Programs.
A Program Coordinator in Burnaby:
Prepare and manage the budget for all General Interest, Industry Education, Career & Vocational and Certificate & Diploma programs
Supervise, train and support program coordinators, Instructors & support staff
Supervise the development, production, distribution and assessment of all advertising materials
Interview and hire all program coordinators and instructors for the General Interest, Career & Vocational and Certificate & Diploma programs
Develop, institute and assess new Certificate & Diploma and Career & Vocational programs
Performs other related duties as requested
Qualifications:
University degree in Education, Leadership, Social Sciences or Recreation
Working knowledge of British Columbia’s public education system
Experience in developing, programming and scheduling of classes; supervision of staff; preparing and managing of budgets; thorough knowledge of databases, word processing and publishing programs; marketing; program needs assessment
Developing instituting andassessing marketing plans
Liaison between K-12 system and Community Education system in the schools
Liaison between Community Education and community groups and non-profit organizations
Developing partnerships between Community Education and industry
Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment
Exceptional communication and customer service skills

The starting annual salary range for this role is $102,001 to $114,751. When determining salary, years of education and experience will be considered. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
