End: June 30, 2025 or upon return of incumbent

NATURE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Argyle is looking for an art, yearbook, and photography teacher to join a collaborative digital media department. The position includes 2 blocks of art 8, 1 block of yearbook, and 3 blocks of senior photography. The successful candidate will be responsible for finalizing the 2024-25 yearbook. Project management skills and experience using diverse photo editing software programs are needed. The schedule for this assignment is blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8 (8:30am-3:00pm daily with one off block in period 6 or 7 to be determined with principal).

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

· A Bachelor of Education Degree in Secondary Education, specializing in Art Education.

· Successful experience teaching Art, Yearbook, and Photography at the Secondary level.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Excellent oral communications, written communication, and group facilitation skills.

· Superior work ethic and social emotional competencies, excellent reflective judgment, and commitment to building effective learning communities.

· Comprehensive understanding of curriculum.

· Confidence and proficiency in using instructional organizers, concepts, and strategies that actively engage all students in learning.

· Ability to positively influence instruction, curriculum, assessment, and social-emotional learning practices in a collaborative environment.

· Knowledge and understanding of the application of relevant computer technologies to teaching and learning.

· Willingness to be involved in professional development, with an ongoing commitment to learn and implement new methodologies and strategies.

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to enhance the school as a learning community.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

· Possession of a BC Teaching Certificate

· Membership in the BC Teacher Regulation Branch.

· A member of the North Vancouver Teachers’ Association and the BC Teachers’ Federation.
