POSTED: January 21, 2025 CLOSING DATE: January 28, 2025 COMPETITION: 2024-142FINE ARTS TEACHER Full time (1.0 FTE) temporary position Sentinel Secondary School Effective April 4, 2025* until June 30, 2025 The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications and Experience A full-time Fine Arts (1.0 FTE) position consisting of Ceramics 8, Marketing 8, Media Arts (Photo) 9 and Careers 9 is available at Sentinel Secondary School *effective upon the departure of the teacher*. This position replaces a teacher on maternity leave. The successful candidate must have:Hold a BC Professional Teaching CertificateEvidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching Fine/3D and/or Visual Arts and/or Media Arts.Experience and knowledge of Fine Arts as it applies to the new curriculum.Experience and knowledge of computer technology as it applies to the new curriculum.Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages, (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards.An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
