SCIENCE TEACHER
Part-time (0.8571 FTE) Term position
West Vancouver Secondary School
Effective March 3, 2025* until June 30, 2025
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A part-time (.8571 FTE) Science 8- 10 position is available. This position replaces a teacher on a leave of absence. *The assignment could start earlier than the specified date. The successful teacher will demonstrate the following:
- Appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching Science
- Post-secondary coursework and/or ELL instructional certification considered an asset
- Knowledgeable in the use of Proficiency Scales for assessment
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies, Big Ideas, and Learning Standards for the appropriate curricular area
- Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
- An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
