ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
The West Vancouver Board of Education is seeking a dynamic leader in education to embrace and enhance our vision of aspiring to provide the finest educational experience in the country - for the benefit of our children, our employees, our community, and our world.
We have more than 7,000 students in our 18 schools, encompassing the District of West Vancouver, the Squamish Nation, the Village of Lions Bay, Bowen Island and neighboring school districts. West Vancouver lies along a beautiful waterfront bounded by ski hills and hiking trails to the North, the Capilano watershed and river canyon to the East and Howe Sound and Burrard Inlet to the West and South.
We will use this process to fill two positions and create a pool for Elementary Principal openings at the elementary level if vacancies occur within the 2025-26 school year. This could be for both French Immersion and English elementary schools in the district.
The successful applicant must demonstrate excellence in the following requirements:
- Leadership experience in promoting curriculum and change initiatives.
- Current, relevant experience as a principal, vice principal or district administrator
- Experience creating innovative practices in an inquiry-based teaching and learning environment.
- Sound knowledge of the application of technology in education.
- Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Creative and inclusive problem-solving approaches.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with students, employees, parents and the community.
- Strong collaboration with various stakeholder and community groups.
- Leadership and motivation of a diverse team of individuals.
- Exceptional teaching experience, skills and experience including French Language skills.
- Certificate of Qualification from the Teachers Regulation Branch.
- Master's degree or enrollment in a Master's program in an appropriate educational field.
