Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Facilities/Designate, the Electrician is involved in the performance of a variety of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks on electrical equipment in buildings throughout the district; and work as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general district Facilities requirements, in accordance with applicable Canadian Electrical Code, Directives, Provincial Standards, regulations, policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Graduation
Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician
Minimum of 2 years related experience at the journeyman level
Valid BC Driver’s License
Field Safety Representative certificate
Ability to analyze, interpret and use judgement in the resolution of problems
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills
Demonstrated ability in a variety of functions within the construction industry
Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a team member
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Direct Digital Control (DDC) experience with HVAC and lighting systems
Arc Flash Training
Lockout Procedures
