Temporary: Immediately to February 28, 2025, or return of
Incumbent, whichever occurs first
Hours: 4.75 hours per day, for all days school
is in session for students (Education Assistant)
1.0 hour per day, for all days school is in
session for students (Supervision)
Rate of Pay:
$33.69/hour (Education Assistant)
$31.49/hour (Supervision)
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Under
the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom
Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities,
chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional
and behavioural problems as designated by the Director of Instruction, while
supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either
inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by
the terms of the assignment.
Qualifications:
Completion
of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including
one (1) year’s related experience. A
special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant
Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s
License. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning
tools (ie. computers, etc).
