JOB SUMMARY:
An employee hired to perform skilled labour in at least one trade specified by the school board. This employee is responsible to an assigned supervisor
POSITION: This position is temporary until October 17, 2025.
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hrs/week 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Option to work 4 days X 10 hours
WAGE RATE: As per C.U.P.E Local 4165 Agreement $25.44
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Minimum of six months experience in the grounds work.
MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO:
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Be self directed, flexible and work independently.
- Work with disagreeable conditions.
- Operate, a variety of tools and equipment related to the specified trade.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Understand the safety requirements of working with hazardous materials and/or situations.
- Develop work methods to handle assigned tasks.
- Perform the physical requirements of the job.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist journeymen in the repair of district buildings, grounds, equipment and other systems.
- May assist in the purchase of supplies and services relating to the position.
- Responsible for the safe operation of maintenance vehicles such as mowers, bobcats, tractors, etc.
- Maintain, clean, service, adjust or repair tools and equipment related to the position.
- Comply with all codes and regulations related to the position.
- Perform other job-related duties
