Position Description

We are inviting applications for the position of Vice-Principal at Prespatou Elementary/Secondary School effective August 1, 2025. We will be accepting applications until 4:30 pm on March 7, 2025.



Prespatou Elementary Secondary is a vibrant K-12 school located in a beautiful rural setting approximately a one hour drive from Fort St John. The schools population is just over 300 students from Kindergarten to grade 12. Prespatou School services a broad range of students from the communities of Prespatou and Buick Creek. The students come from a background speaking Low German and Russian. Our students enjoy an active lifestyle at home and at school. The school building is the hub for the community with many events held regularly (meetings, gym nights, sewing, music, dinners, weddings). Educational services provided include English as a Second Language, Learning Assistance, and Inclusion. Staffing currently includes 14 K-12 teachers, 2 support educators and 5 support staff. Additionally, we are looking for an individual with the following attributes:

  • Successful elementary and secondary teaching experience. The teaching component of this role will likely be in secondary.
  • The successful candidate will support the development of a Framework for Enhancing Student Learning (FESL) that guides the allocation of resources and professional development.
  • The successful candidate will be committed to effective supervision of instruction practices.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Principal to establish a cohesive and dynamic admin team
  • The successful candidate will work constructively with parents as important stakeholders in the life of the school.
  • The successful candidate is committed to learning more about Truth and Reconciliation and integrating Indigenous ways of learning into the culture of the school.
  • The successful candidate is committed to supporting inclusion structures and interventions.

Compensation

  • $2,000 relocation allowance when relocating from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4,000 when relocating from other areas
  • Salary is dependent on Experience and Education. Current starting annual salary is $135,767
