About us….
Adjacent to Victoria on southern Vancouver Island, Sooke School District is the fastest growing school district on Vancouver Island and one of the fastest growing districts in British Columbia. The District serves five municipalities: Langford, Colwood, Metchosin, Sooke and the Highlands and is on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish: T’Sou-ke Nation and Scia’new Nation and Nuu-chah-nulth: Pacheedaht Nation. Some of our schools are located on the traditional territory of Esquimalt Nation and Songhees Nation. The District is a major employer in our region, with over 2,000 educators and support staff serving over 13,000 students. The Board of Education has developed a future-oriented Strategic Plan that focuses on three priority areas: learning, engagement and growth
What you'll be doing...
Custodians play a vital role in our schools by assisting to create a safe and clean learning environment where all students can participate in learning activities and programs.
What we offer…
A starting wage of $30.30 per hour
Three (3) weeks’ vacation to start (based on the terms outlined in the current CUPE Local 459 Collective Agreement)

What you need to apply...
As a Custodian, we are looking for candidates that effectively communicate and collaborate, build relationships and support a welcoming and safe environment and have the following education and experience:
Completion of secondary school and preferably completion of recognized Building Service Worker (BSW) Level 1 course
Up to three (3) months cleaning experience or one-year experience in a related environment of cleaning
