We invite applications for the positions of:

School: Student Services

Position: Learning Support Teacher, French Immersion

FTE: .60FTE (days per week are flexible)

Grade: District K-12

Status: Temporary

Start Date: September 3, 2024 to June 30, 2025

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education and/or PDP

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Education or post-graduate diploma in Inclusive Education

Training and/or experience at writing and maintaining IEPs

Has a minimum B2 level DELF communication skills in French or has successfully passed the district’s French qualifications exam

Is bilingual and able to communicate in written and oral form in French and English

Recent successful training and experience in standardized Level A and B assessment

Successful teaching experience at both the primary, and intermediate level

Successful teaching experience at the middle and secondary level

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills

Job Duties:

Act as case manager to support and plan interventions, facilitation of meetings, and the management of the

IEP to meet the individual goals of students with both high and low incidence designations

Fulfill policies and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Special Education Services:

A Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines

Work in collaboration with teachers modeling instructional strategies for teachers, providing

additional resources as well as providing additional instruction for students that have learning difficulties

Assess student progress and write reports on attainment and progress as required

Provision of specific, targeted teaching to individuals or groups requiring additional help

Promote and support differentiated instruction at the classroom level

Collect, monitor and disseminate student information as well as keep detailed records where needed

Work collaboratively with district staff and other specialists to coordinate required information and services for students with special needs

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $57,972-$106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service, FTE and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
