1.0 FTE TEMP Social Studies Teacher

School District No. 83 is current seeking: Position Title 1.0 FTE Social Studies Teacher Pleasant Valley Secondary This is a temporary assignment effective January 29, 2025 to June 30, 2025 or to return of teacher to full contractual FTE whichever comes first. This assignment consists of teaching Social Studies 9 and 10 and computers 9.Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts or Education (Secondary emphasis preferred); Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch. Teachers applying should possess the following attributes: academic credentials and/or experience in teaching Social Studies and English; a working knowledge of the current curriculum for Social Studies and English; demonstrated successful experience teaching at the Secondary level; commitment to fostering a collaborative and cooperative working environment; committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning; evidence of ability to motivate secondary students; demonstrated use of a variety of instructional and assessment strategies; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment with other staff members; commitment to involving parents in the learning of their children.
