Skatin Community School is looking for a motivated, adventurous Primary - years Teacher who would like to join our dynamic and energetic team for a rewarding experience in our First Nation community. Skatin Nation has a population of approximately 100 people. Skatin Nation is 1.5 hours west of Pemberton from and is accessible by vehicle to get there.

Skatin Community School has a total of 3 teaching staff and 30 students from K4 to Grade 12.

Skatin Community School is located on - reserve in a remote setting in the beautiful In-shuck-ch Region of British Columbia located between Harrison Lake and Lillooet Lake. There are two hot springs within driving distance. We currently have 32 students enrolled for the 2019-20 school year. The school is operated by the Skatin Nation. The surrounding environment provides numerous outdoor and wilderness activities including excellent fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing and canoeing amid amazing scenery.

Successful candidates will be:

In possession of a Degree in Education;

An up-to-date member of Teacher Regulation Branch (or working towards membership);

Adventurous, versatile and a nature lover;

Positive thinking and ability to work as a team member

Able to adjust to living in a small isolated community located on a Forest Service Road with no stores.

Sensitive to First Nation’s culture, and educational issues;

Excellent communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal and technical)

Salary is negotiable and a benefit package that includes, medical, dental and vision care and a teacherage. We also ensure that all of our Teachers are provided with ongoing professional development opportunities through the FNSA.
