Description
Our client is looking for an Emergency Preparedness Manager to coordinate emergency response to wildfire that threaten or impact to the organization's capital asset
- 6 months, possible for extension, full time hrs, 7.5 hrs per day, Hybrid in Burnaby Office
Must haves:
- 3+ years experience in Project Coordination
- Strong relationship management as well as proven ability to effectively collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, network drives, and MS Teams.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
Asset:
- Experience with emergency response planning and the emergency management system (i.e. incident command system, emergency center activation) will be a benefit.
Responsibilities:
- This role is responsible for improving preparedness and response by ensuring plans are adapted or developed for all corporation sites which include Offices and warehouses, Generating facilities, Substations, non-integrated Area generating sites
- This role contributes to achieving compliance to the new WSBC emergency planning regulations related to hazardous materials.
- This role is responsible for improving preparedness and response by ensuring plans are adapted or developed for all the corporation sites
- Develop guidelines on what is considered a hazardous material in a quantity that may endanger a person.
- Develop an inventory of hazardous materials, detailing locations, info on effects/ precautions and approximate and maximum quantities at all sites.
- Develop and document for all sites, a risk assessment for hazardous substances, considering potential emergency generation or workplace entry, in consultation with a qualified person, including risks from and to external workplaces, and utilizing industry-assigned hazard ratings.
- Develop for all sites emergency response procedures associated with the incoming and outgoing threats.
- Develop a hazardous materials drill that is annually planned, documented, and linked to lessons learned.
- All the above items should be completed for all the corporate sites:
- with either the site Joint Health and Safety Committee or worker representation
- in a prioritized approach, scheduled over two years
- by placing into existing Emergency Response Plans and where there are no dedicated ERPs, to place them in local information documents.
- leveraging OSH Specialists, Environmental Field Operations, Emergency Management, change management and other Subject Matter Experts as needed
- limiting the impact on Facility Safety Leads and Operational Staff
