Our client is looking for an Intermediate Financial Analyst to performs financial accounting and complex financial analysis and provides expert financial advice to management to support business planning, financial planning, operations, and strategic decision making. - 21026

5 months contract, potential for extension, Hybrid in Burnaby (2 days in office)

Must have

• 5+ years experience in financial accounting background
• 3+ years experience with Power BI and Power Query
• Professional accounting designation such as the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Finance, or other related discipline

Responsibilities:

• Perform financial accounting and complex financial analysis and provides expert financial advice to management of one or more business units to support business planning, financial planning, operations, and strategic decision making at the company.
• Conduct financial evaluations and studies by gathering, researching, adjusting, and analyzing financial data and applying expert knowledge of financial evaluation, statistical analysis, and modeling tools using advanced skills in MS Excel or a data analysis software, to support strategic decision making.
• Prepare and present financial results, proposals, and/or recommendations for management review by researching, developing, and presenting findings in support of the company’s financial goals and objectives.
• Develop and draft the financial component of project proposals, budgets, business cases, and/or proposed feasibility studies and/or pilots by using excellent knowledge of financial transaction processing, reporting systems, data extraction, and financial and accounting policies, procedures, and processes to deliver finance support to business groups at the company.
• Assist managers of one or more business units in strategic decision-making by providing expert analytical support and consultative advice on complex business and financial planning issues in compliance with the financial requirements of the company’s regulated environment.
