Location Address: Hybrid/Toronto - (Monday & Wed)

Contract Duration: 6 months (Possibility of extension)

Schedule Hours: 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

• Business group: Global Finance & Risk Technology
• Project: In house-built hedge accounting application extensive front end redesign to meet risk & currency obligation
• This position belongs to a highly skilled development team that develops and supports various applications in growing Global Finance & Risk Technology team. The team is responsible for providing specialized analysis, design, development, and support of cost effective, mission critical, on-line, risk management and decision support systems for business users within bank IT group.
• The incumbent will be responsible for implementing standards and best practices around the development of application services and common components. The incumbent will influence the technological solution in relationship to the architecture, design and development and leverage common components as part of delivering the design/solution. Provides an enterprise-wide perspective and input into IT decisions.

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years solid experience as a JavaScript (React) and be able to work with REST API.
• Recent Designing experience in tabs, pages, controls, and buttons for the website
• Embrace collaboration with the team to understand their visions + create mock-ups of the site and test pages to demonstrate the function of the website to end user
• Recently strong UI/UX design experience,

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Had exposure to JAVA related technologies.
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.

Typical Day in Role:

• Work within a cross functional Agile team to deliver solutions for various business line of the bank.
• Ability to take the lead on projects, but also work with others
• Ability to look at a problem from both a business and technical angle
• Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-leaner on new technologies and maintain an understanding of the business and technology strategies.
• Designing and developing, implementing primary interface for user experience

Education:

• A recognized degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline

Best VS. Average Candidate:

• More years in react & recent design experience (UX experience in ReactJS)
