S.i. Systems healthcare client is looking for a Intermediate Network Analyst to complete a network design and implementation- 24-010


The client has performed assessments on its on-premises networks and determined that a new design is required. The existing network does not take advantage of modern networking features present on the switching and security infrastructure.


Initial contract until March 31st 2025. Local candidates preferred.


Must Haves:

  • 5+ years as a Network Analyst, doing network design and implementation
  • Experience with network routers and switches and some of the following technologies: Palo Alto firewall, Cisco Meraki, Network Switches (HP)


Responsibilities:


• Create a detailed future design (to be complete by January 31, 2025).

• Develop an implementation plan (to be developed before January 31, 2025).

• Begin implementation and complete as much of the implementation plan as possible by March 31, 2025.

• Use industry best practices for design and implementation plan.

• Scope of work:

  1. • Redesign the network:
  2. • Micro-segmentation including VLAN design and IP addressing
  3. • Firewalling/inspection of all inter-segment traffic
  4. • Rationalize Internet feeds, removing the Span/BC link if possible.
  5. • Remove the 2 GPS NTP receivers and replace with internet-based time services.
  6. • Redesign and re-implement the network management VLAN
  7. • Consider adding an out-of-band network.
  8. • Recommendations and design for guest Wi-Fi (replacing existing solution).
  9. • Consideration for centralized management solution for the HP switching.
  10. • Design to consider removal and replacement of the pfSense firewall while maintaining separate external IP address for unmanaged devices.
  11. • Consider moving from shared IP addresses to one IP address per Internet-facing service.
  12. • Move smartphones to corporate Wi-Fi.


Deliverables:

  • Detailed documentation showing network design.
  • A plan detailing how to get from current state to the new design.
  • Knowledge transfer from contractor to IMIT staff and leaders (two or more group sessions) to review the architecture, design choices, and documentation.
