Description
Our utilities client is seeking an Intermediate PostgreSQL Developer to support Greenplum database maintenance, design and optimization - 21076
Initially a 6-months contract to start. Hybrid working model in Burnaby. Candidates MUST be located in the Lower Mainland. 37.5 hrs/week.
Must Have:
- 5+ years PostgreSQL Development
- PL/pgSQL
- Experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- High availability and replication concepts
- Security best practices for database management.
Nice to haves:
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience with Python 3
Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, tables, and indexes.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, and functions.
- Ensure database performance, scalability, and security.
- Perform regular database processes monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate database functionality into applications.
- Write and maintain documentation for database processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest PostgreSQL features and industry trends.
