Jr. QA Test & Support Engineers with mobile and web app QA and device certification experience (7481)

The successful candidate will have:

· Device testing and platform service validation

· Experience with IP Networking and Troubleshooting - specifically: Wireshark, routing / IPv4 & IPv6, load balancers, DNS, etc.

· Knowledge of the OSI model and networking concepts.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Testing and device certification -

· Evaluate, test and qualify NG PTT (Next Generation Push to Talk) features and downloadable clients to meet aggressive timelines.

· Troubleshoot, log, document, track and assist the vendor, Motorola, to resolve technical issues encountered during the PTT Server platform qualification/validation process.

· Provide support to other members of the PTT team (network, products, IT, marketing etc.) on ongoing PTT service issues and project activity.

· Collaborate and proactively provide support to the platform, client and OEM vendors on various project and issue investigations.

· Perform Device certification MCPTT device testing.

· Think out of the box and beyond the traditional test cases to anticipate end-user experiences/situations.

Other project or certification technical troubleshooting duties-

· Diagnose problems and able to conduct and coordinate troubleshooting sessions with vendors, internal teams and customers.

· Solve technical problems timely with vendor.

· Escalate issues (via tickets) to a higher level as needed and ensure follow-up.

· Identify service improvement opportunities during certification and device testing.

· Deploy new features in night maintenance windows.

Qualifications/Competencies

· B. Eng. /B. A. Sc. or Eng. Technology diploma or equivalent B.Sc. (Math, Comp Sci. etc.)

· Knowledge of Wireless Telecom and a basic understanding of access technologies.

· Experience with mobile and web application QA and device certification.

· Experience in handling, coordination and troubleshooting of operational and QA issues & tickets.

· Knowledge of IP Networking and Troubleshooting (Wireshark, routing / IPv4 & IPv6, load balancers, DNS, etc.)

· Knowledge of the OSI model and networking concepts.

· Ability to focus on multiple tasks concurrently and a strong commitment to execution.

· Strong command of the English language - both written and oral.

· The ability to communicate in French would be an asset.

· Aptitude for quickly learning different vendor technologies and tools.

· Valid driver’s license.


Desired Qualifications/Competencies

· Familiar with these technologies: Push to Talk (OMA-PoC standard or equivalent), LTE/HSPA+, SIP signaling, IMS, SMS, Wi-Fi, OMA-DM/CP, FOTA, etc.

· IP Networking (routing / IPv4 & IPv6 etc.)

· Linux OS

· Familiar with mobile operating systems (Android, iOS)
