Description
Our Manufacturing client is seeking a permanent Intermediate Security Analyst to help our client build out their SecOps practice, implement best practices and monitor and report on all security-related matters.
Hybrid Opportunity - 3 days a week in office (Coquitlam), 2 days remote. $80K-$100K annually, depending on experience.
High Level Overview:
Providing functional and technical expertise is important to maintaining security posture and protection of electronically and physically stored information assets across our systems is a key priority for the company. Reporting to the Sr Manager - IT Infrastructure & Operations, the Information Security Analyst will bring a combination of deep IT and security knowledge along with strong operational experience. This role will be an active contributor in developing, maintaining and executing a comprehensive security program for our client.
Must Have Skills:
- 3 years experience in Security Operations (SecOps)
- 5 years experience coming from an IT background (particularly coming from a network admin, systems admin or senior IT analyst position).
- Proven experience in handling and resolving security incidents.
- Deep understanding of Standard Information Security Baseline Frameworks, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery protocols and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on all security-related matters under the guidance of the Sr Manager of Information Technology, recommending changes as needed
- Analyse, review and maintain information security controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems data.
- Provide operational risk assessments and mitigation tracking information for consideration during risk management reviews.
- Provide investigation, documentation, communication, and risk mitigation tracking of incidents for the incident response team (IIRT).
- Develop and maintain third-party relationships with information security vendors and partners.
- Learn, monitor and help improve business processes for areas of primary support responsibility.
- Conduct annual Security Baseline Audits and implement approved recommendations.
- Perform routine penetration assessment and testing with security partners.
- Perform routine checks of security logs for devices like firewalls, switches, and workstations.
- Implement and execute operational processes related to an effective security program.
- Maintain security updates and collaborate with other operational teams to ensure compliance levels and SLAs are met.
- Occasionally perform escalated “Help Desk” tasks: answer security questions, analyse failures, research solutions, revise systems, repair data, and document solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT technologies and systems through literature and training, serving as an expert for designated technologies.
- Stay current with security issues, trends, and best practices.
- Stay familiar with business processes, servers, and systems from a security perspective.
- Assist other IT staff as needed.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by IT leadership.
