Our Retail and Energy client is looking for a Senior Applications Manager with experience managing managed service teams to oversee the support and optimization of software applications used in refinery operations.

Year-long contract to start. Hybrid work environment (3 days onsite). On call outside of regular business hours may be required.

Must Haves:

• 3+ years Applications Management experience
• 8+ years Application Support experience
• Refinery processes and refinery software applications (Aveva PI, Aspentech Hysys, Hexagon SDX, KBC Visual Mesa) experience
• Managed Service Partner (offshore and onshore) management experience
• Application monitoring tools, databases, and IT infrastructure experience

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor an outsourced application support team for refinery software.
• Oversee maintenance, optimization, and performance of refinery-specific applications.
• Respond to critical application incidents, ensuring minimal operational impact.
• Collaborate with refinery operations, engineering, and IT vendors to meet application needs.
• Manage application-related projects, including upgrades, patching, and integrations.
• Ensure compliance with access management and refinery risk protocols.
• Liaise with software vendors for issue resolution and contract management.
