Senior Azure Architect – Infrastructure Modernization Project

Our public infrastructure client is looking for a Senior Azure Architect to lead infrastructure design, automation, and cloud optimization activities for a critical modernization project.


Location: Remote (Canada-based)

Duration: ~11 weeks (possible renewal for up to 5 months)

Engagement Type: Contract (Full-time)

Work Hours: Standard business hours - No on-call or weekend coverage required


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Azure cloud architecture, including services such as SQL Managed Instances, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and Azure Front Door.
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption using Terraform for cloud automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on architecture, security, and disaster recovery standards.
  • Lead network design and integration within Azure, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
  • Support the buildout of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices to streamline deployment and operations.
  • Provide architectural leadership in areas of cloud security, compliance, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Produce documentation and architecture diagrams to support implementation and knowledge transfer.


Must-Have Skills:

  • 8+ years of overall IT infrastructure/architecture experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Azure cloud experience in enterprise environments.
  • Deep knowledge of:
  • Azure services (SQL MI, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, Azure Front Door)
  • Infrastructure automation using Terraform
  • Cloud security, networking, and disaster recovery
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
