Senior Cloud Architect to support the refinement of a new landing zone environment on AWS Cloud for a healthcare client

Our valued healthcare client is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to support the refinement of a new landing zone environment on AWS Cloud

Initial 2.5-month contract (100% Remote in EST), with possibility of additional extensions once the fiscal year is renewed. 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Candidates with the ability to work on-site in Ottawa, ON or North York, ON would be preferred.

As the successful candidate you will improve utilization, reduce costs and rationalize utilization of AWS cloud services. To reach full utilization of the cloud platform, the client must address legacy applications and processes to make them cloud native. The primary work for the Cloud Maturity project is to refine the new Landing Zone environment (LZ2).

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of AWS cloud architecture, including account structure, network architecture, data management, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Conduct architecture review of current data management solutions and propose a target architecture and migration plan.
• Design CI/CD pipelines and develop related Shell/Python scripts and CloudFormation templates as required.
• Update AWS cloud architecture document as required.
• Provide technical leadership to the project team and support the team with the implementation.

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect with strong demonstrated experience working with AWS S3, EC2, VPC, and Identity Services
• Extensive experience in providing data management solutions based on AWS Data Lake (EMR, Glue, Athena) and Data Warehouse (Redshift) services
• Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
• Scripting languages (Shell, Python, CloudFormation)
