Senior Full Stack Java Developer using SpringBoot to design, develop and maintain backend services for numerous applications within the Insurance Industry

Our insurance client is looking for a Senior Full Stack Java Developer using SpringBoot to design, develop and maintain backend services for numerous applications

**Two days per week in office - Calgary or Toronto

Must have:

• Experience as a Senior Full Stack Java developer designing, developing and maintaining backend services and API's using Java17+ and SpringBoot3
• Experience with DevOps Practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (prefer Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong Cloud architecture experience (AWS and/or Azure)
• Strong experience designing and optimize database schemas, queries and data migration, backup and recovery strategies.
• Experience with at least two of the following: MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Nice to have:

• AWS and/or Azure certification
• Swagger, Splunk, Helm, NeuVecor or similar tools
• Guidewire integration certification

What you will be doing:

Backend Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java17+ SpringBoot3
• Implementing scalable and reliable server-side logic for handling user requests, data processing, and business logic.
• Optimizing performance and scalability of backend systems to ensure smooth operation under high load conditions.
• DevOps practices for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD)(e.g. Jenkins), including version control systems (e.g. Git), containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), vault etc.

Database Management:

• Work with databases s to store and retrieve data efficiently.
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries to support application requirements.
• Implement data migration, backup, and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
