Senior Project Manager- ITSM project

S.i. Systems public sector client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to work on an ITSM project


6 month contract to start. 5 days/ week onsite in Surrey, BC.


Must Haves:

  • 10+ years' as a Project Manager, specifically with a a focus on infrastructure development and implementation
  • Experience leading ITSM projects/ initiatives
  • PMP certification


Typical Duties:

  • Within SPS’s business priorities, develops detailed IT project specifications, identifies, scopes, and manages stakeholder requirements/expectations. Manages business interfaces, budgets, and project risks and scope. Ensures smooth operational transitions in complex business areas during project implementation.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams to deliver quality solutions from start to finish following advanced project management methodology. Influences others through leadership versus reporting relationships.
  • Delivers project commitments, manages conflicting priorities, and defines and communicates complex IT realities while planning the future, developing timelines, reaching milestones, and keeping the team focused.
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with relevant business units throughout SPS in alignment with SPS’s strategic plans.
  • Champions IT changes and communicates with relevant stakeholders at all levels. Identifies opportunities for operational enhancements, presents options, and obtains commitment and funding for IT projects.
  • Leads diverse teams through large or multiple concurrent projects. Establishes strong internal and external relationships. Maintains strong relationships with external vendors and IT experts in the profession and across policing.
  • Communicates complex ideas in simple straightforward ways that foster understanding and agreement.
  • Stays up to date on current literature regarding research methodology and police issues and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements.
  • Establishes and sustains appropriate policies and protocols for the work.
  • Reports to the Manager IT and serves on the IT leadership team. May report directly to the executive team on critical projects.
  • Works in a safe and healthy manner, in alignment with SPS’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy, provincial law, and the Police Act. Provides suggestions for improvement to workplace safety and employee wellness.
  • Works with others in an inclusive and respectful manner, in alignment with SPS’s Human Rights and Return to Workplace Policy and provincial law. Provides suggestions for improvements on inclusion and respect in the workplace
