Senior QA Analyst to develop & conduct test strategies & plans for web & mobile applications, and support the enhancement of agile & DevOps

Our client is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to develop & conduct test strategies & plans for web & mobile applications, and support the enhancement of agile & DevOps practices in the utilities industry.

Calgary candidate for 6 month contract to start, 3 days per week in office (free parking)

Must Have

• 5+ years QA Analyst experience with web & mobile applications
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
• Experience developing & performing test strategies, plans, & cases
• Experience with SQL Scripting
• Post secondary degree in Computer Science, IT or related field

Nice to have

• Performance & Security Testing
• DevOps/DevSecOps knowledge
• CI/CD familiarity
• ISTQB or equivalent certification
• Previous experience establishing Agile/DevOps/CI/CD practices in an immature environment

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans and test cases. Define and document test sets and test cases for all phases of testing.
• Manage, coordinate and conduct all phases of application testing, identify, document, and track software defects using QA tools.
• Lead and mentor junior QA analysts, providing guidance and support.
• Participate in requirement review meetings and provide feedback on testability & ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices.
• Prepare and present detailed test reports and metrics to stakeholders.
• Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies.
