Our valued public sector client is seeking a Senior SharePoint Architect to support the transformation of an internal communication and collaboration platform.

Background:

This strategic initiative is aimed at transforming the internal communication and collaboration platform. The current PHP-based environment, coupled with a custom Content Management System (CMS) named Stockpile, poses operational challenges including recurring tasks, CMS constraints, and database management concerns. The project seeks to address these challenges by migrating to a more advanced platform, leveraging Microsoft 365 technologies, with a focus on SharePoint Online. The envisioned intranet aims to foster increased collaboration, streamline communication channels, and enhance overall security posture.

Responsibilities:

• Assess current intranet infrastructure and content.
• Design and produce a SharePoint architecture and infrastructure.
• Customize SharePoint environment based on wireframes and information architecture.
• Migrate content and data from current system to SharePoint.
• Develop site design and branding.
• Ensure SharePoint customization reflects organizational identity and requirements.
• Establish communication framework and channels to meet the Communications Group business requirement.
• Implement effective search engine.
• Identify key content for migration or update.
• Facilitate employee engagement through feedback mechanisms imbedded in the SharePoint pages.
• Form content-expert working group to create and/or review content.
• Conduct user testing.
• Develop training materials and provide user support to facilitate knowledge transfer to employees.
• Establish plan for ongoing maintenance and updates.

Must Haves:

• 10+ years experience as a Technology Architect
• 1 project experience migrating from WET/PHP to SharePoint by implementing full lifecycle steps of an intranet
• 2+ projects within the last 5 years applying industry best practices in SharePoint Migration.
• 3+ years of experience supporting Cloud Application Platforms and M365 environments
• 2+ projects within the last 5 years in writing scripts to facilitate and automate data migration to SharePoint.
• 2+ projects within the last 5 years leading all steps of a migration project, including planning, organizing, and executing the tasks to achieve project goals.
