Our client is seeking a SR Training Lead to develop end to end training programs for a utilities client


Role Overview

The Training Lead will report to the Change Management Lead and work closely with the Business Lead and Project Team to support successful adoption of myHSEQ by developing and executing a comprehensive training program.


Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7+ years as a Training Lead
  • Ability to develop training approach, curriculum, resources, program and measure effectiveness
  • Hybrid Office Schedule: Ability to align with a 2-3 day per week in-office schedule in Edmonton.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel across Alberta to support roadshows and training delivery.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license for travel purposes.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with developing training videos and using internal software for training content creation.
  • Familiarity with integrating training programs into LMS (learning management systems)


Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the Training Program
  • Participate in OCM and project team meetings to stay aligned with project scope and deliverables.
  • Lead training team meetings and working sessions.
  • Maintain training work plans and manage training team tasks and deliverables.
  • Identify and escalate training-related risks and issues and communicate task status to project leadership.
  • Coordinate interdependencies from other projects impacting the same stakeholders.
  1. Develop Training Approach
  • Create a Training Approach that outlines methods for identifying and delivering training content.
  • Conduct stakeholder impact analysis to inform training requirements.
  • Develop and implement a train-the-trainer model.
  • Oversee training needs analysis, collaborating with internal training and system integrator teams.
  1. Define Curriculum and Plan
  • Identify training needs for both internal and external audiences and establish course curriculums.
  • Create a detailed training plan, including schedules for end-user training, pilot sessions, and sustainment strategies.
  • Work with training team and system integrator to establish instructional standards for quality and consistency.
  • Validate plans with Business Lead, OCM Lead, and project team.
  1. Develop and Design Training Resources and Materials
  • Develop key training materials to support User Acceptance Testing.
  • Oversee the development of Train-the-Trainer, instructor, and end-user training materials.
  • Ensure training content aligns with established design standards and manage consistency in documentation.
  • Use internal software and partner with external vendors to develop high-impact training videos.
  1. Prepare for Training Delivery
  • Support and mobilize trainers throughout the project.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to upload training materials to the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Assign training to stakeholders per the training plan and coordinate technical requirements for training sessions.
  1. Deliver Training Program
  • Deliver training to high-impact areas 6-8 weeks before go-live.
  • Provide comprehensive support to trainers identified through the train-the-trainer model.
  1. Measure Training Effectiveness
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and report on adoption and completion rates.
  • Offer refresher training and post-go-live support as part of the hyper-care process.
  • Update and create new training materials as needed after go-live.
