Sr. Data Analyst to support the decommissioning of mainframe systems

Our valued client is looking for a Sr. Data Analyst to support the decommissioning of mainframe systems.

Tasks include:

• Use new and existing applications to create a future state that does not rely on mainframe application(s) to support the underwriting, risk management and account receivable processes
• Carry out data analysis activities by evaluating current state, performing data gap analysis and support development of future state data needs
• Work closely with key business stakeholders to document current state and requirements, examine data, and evaluate patterns and troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations on solutions based on data management best practices
• Apply analytical skills collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Carry out data validation and identify and resolve discrepancies (format, content, values).

Must have:

• Demonstrated experience in SQL programming is required.
• Demonstrated experience in ETL is required.
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in current and future state data mapping
• Well-rounded experience in the whole data lifecycle management and hands-on experience in the following data management domains: dimensional and relational data modeling, data quality, SQL programming (minimum 5 years), ETL development, metadata management and master data management, and business intelligence
• Experience with reverse engineering the source to target mapping to gain data insights
• Experience refactoring existing SQL code to new/alternate data sources

Nice to have:

• Experience with Azure Data Platform technologies or other public cloud offerings
• Experience with Databricks
• Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French)
