Sr. Data Center Consultant to support a Unity NAS to PowerStore NAS migration for a FinTech client

Duration: 6 months (High possibility of extension)

Location: Hybrid - Etobicoke (2 times/week)

Role: Mix of Operational (including rotating on-call support and willingness to work after-hours as required to implement technology changes and provide support) and Engineering/Architecture works related to the domains outlined below. They need to understand concepts across domains and silos (IE: virtualization + storage + backup/data protection) and have experience with each.

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Center Admin/Consultant with experience in working in a physical co-location DC environment (change management, physical security, rack elevations, cabling/connectivity, power/cooling).
• Strong experience with on-premise primary storage/backup+data protection/virtualization

Nice To Have Skills:

• Experience with Dell/EMC Technologies.
• Experience with Windows and Linux (Red Hat) administration

Job Description:

• Joining a DC migration project in final stages --- helping with Unity NAS to PowerStore NAS migrations.
• Help to mature VMware vSphere vulnerability management process with focus on automation.
• Working on secure disposal and decommissioning of equipment from old DC.
• Help with a proof-of-concept for Dell PPDM/PPDD infrastructure and potential rapid deployment/migration from Commvault system. Transitioning long-term retention backups from tape to cloud object storage (familiarity with both PowerProtect DD Cloud Tiering and Azure Blob Storage is ideal). Must have solid understanding of core data-protection concepts + strategies - RTO/RPO, snapshots, replication, etc. ideally with the mentioned platforms.
• Help with design and deployment of QA and DEV environments using VMware vSphere. Drive integration with Terraform and Ansible for automation within DEV environment to replace Nutanix AOS/AHV with PC Flow provisioning today.
• Help planning and executing a vSphere 7 to vSphere 8 migration (vCenter, hosts).
• Working on a branch office technology revamp (including decommissioning of old equipment).
