Description
Our client is looking for a Sr. Database Administrator with a strong background in IDMS and legacy systems to support government applications.
Background:
Our client has had a long-term contractor (5+ years) supporting their legacy systems who is now resigning to retire due to health reasons. The client operates an old legacy mainframe environment, primarily maintained by a full-time employee. However, they require additional support in two scenarios:
- Special Projects: Typically require 30-40 hours/month, averaging 5-10 hours/week (exact figures can vary month to month).
- Coverage During Absences: When the full-time resource is on vacation or unavailable, the new contractor will be expected to work full-time hours temporarily.
Must Have's:
- 5+ years experience as a DBA
- 5+ years experience with SQL Server
- 5+ years with (z/OS) mainframes
- Strong experience in JCL, SDSF, SORT and COBOL
- Stored Procedures and SQL Server Agent Jobs
- Familiar with multi-environment applications
Nice to Have's:
- Experience/Familiarity with IDMS and ISP DARSTRAN
