Our client is looking for a Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator to support performance optimization and long-term strategic planning for a software development company.

Overview:

You will focus on resolving critical performance issues with our SQL Server databases and working closely with software engineers to optimize application performance.

Must Have's:

• 10+ years as a SQL Server DBA managing enterprise-level databases
• Expertise in query tuning, performance troubleshooting, and database optimization
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR solutions, security best practices, and automation
• Ability to balance urgent issue resolution with long-term strategic planning
• Experience leading or mentoring junior DBAs is a plus

Responsibilities:

· Immediate Performance Fixes: Diagnose and resolve major performance bottlenecks in our SQL Server databases.

· Database Optimization: Tune queries, indexing strategies, and server configurations to improve efficiency.

· Security & Compliance: Assist with database security, access controls, and regulatory compliance.

· Automation & Monitoring: Refine monitoring and alerting approach to avoid and quickly detect performance issues.

· Collaboration: Partner with developers, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to align database performance with business needs.
