Splendid Chocolates is a family owned business that has been growing since 1976. We have a 90,000 square foot production plant with 8 production lines. We specialize in molded novelties, bars and truffles. Most of our business is contract manufacturing for the world’s largest chocolates companies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the primary function of the maintenance technician is to ensure the efficient operation of chocolate manufacturing equipment by completing proactive and reactive maintenance requirements. The position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds on the property.
- Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines; reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Prepare, test, and troubleshoot all production lines prior to start-up in a timely manner. Some weekend work is required from time to time in order to work while production lines are not operating.
- Performing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Champions a culture of high performance through employee engagement and continuous improvement orientation in all actions and approaches.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Speaking French is an asset.
- At least 3 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience. Previous food or chocolate production mechanical experience (automated production line and flow wrapper packing line) is an asset.
- Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
- Highly flexible, with good interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse working environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a continuous improvement and learning capability, being adaptable and open to change.
- Able to work in a variety of environments including wet, humid, particulate (dusty), cold, hot, and indoor/outdoor. Able to lift up to 25KG on a regular basis.
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday (Weekend if needed)
Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
