St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Part Time, Temporary, Educational Assistant 1 for work assignment within a Behaviour and Academic Strategies Class (BASC) at École Hillgrove School.

More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.

Hours of Work: 17.5 hrs. /week; 3.5 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Part Time, Temporary

Hourly Rate: $21.98 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

· Experience implementing positive behavior support plan strategies required

· Experience implementing ILP and IPP goals

· Verbal Intervention Training is an asset

· Formal Post-Secondary training is preferred

· Candidate must have strong skills in managing students’ behavior

· Preferred candidates would have experience working with Division 1 & 2 students

· Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team an asset

· Experience working with students with various diverse learning and behavioural needs an asset

· Experience with complex needs and autism is preferred

· Experience with augmentative communication devices an asset

· Verbal de-escalation training considered an asset

· Experience with complex learning profiles
