Role Overview

To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, the Early Childhood Educator will hold a multifaceted role, supporting our Kindergarten classes and Extended Day program (JK to MS6). In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for working with the Kindergarten team and the specialist teachers to facilitate student programming, including the Afternoon Extended Day Program. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Principal, Junior School, Vice Principal, Junior School, and Junior School teaching team, and will be responsible for the development and delivery of creative and innovative inquiry based programming inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, while meeting the individual needs of all students in the classroom and in the Extended Day Program.

Education: Post Secondary Education in Early Childhood Education

Registered with College of Early Childhood Educators

Experience: 1-3 + years’ experience teaching in Early Years (JK/SK)

Experience in Reggio (asset)

Experience in a non-profit setting (asset)

Experience in an Independent School (asset)

Working Conditions: School/Office Environment, Mac, Google

Responsibilities

Support Kindergarten classroom programming

Collaborate with other faculty and staff members to plan and implement engaging and enriching activities for students during extended day hours

Assist with extended day program, including supervising students during after-school activities and providing academic support as needed.

Ensure the safe and nurturing environment for all students under care
