Role Overview
To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, we are currently seeking a Relief Nurse to support multiple areas of our school; Junior, Middle, and Senior School. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Principals, Vice-Principals, Teachers, and Administrators.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day to day operation of the School's Health Centre.
Regular working hours are from Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Strong assessment skills, reliable, flexible, self-directed professional who is able to work
effectively and collaboratively with Leadership team & Employees.
Sound patient care nursing skills combined with effective communication, interpersonal and
organizational skills.
Day to Day Responsibilities of Health Centre:
Provide assessment and appropriate nursing care within the accepted scope of practice for
illness and injury for students and staff
Liaise with Leadership Team, faculty, and parents/guardians, etc as needed regarding
student care, support, illness and injury
Liaise with student, staff, families, and the Student Support Team about students with
suspected concussions as well as other health issues impacting learning or play as part of a team that provides academic oversight and follow-up care (Return to Learn, Return to Play).
Reporting, Records and Documentation:
Complete Accident/Incident Reports for all school related occurrences, ensure all necessary
parties have been made aware of incidents, and ensure any necessary follow up actions are taken
Maintain accurate, up-to-date student health care records ensuring protection of confidential
files and information.
Position Details
Reports to: Vice-Principal, Middle School
Education: Registered Nurse OR Registered Practical Nurse (in Good Standing with College of Nurses of Ontario). Current Health Certifications: CPR, AED, First Aid.
Experience: 3 + years nursing experience
Experience with working with School aged children (JK-Grade 12) Public Health Experience (asset)
Experience in a non-profit setting (asset)
Experience in an Independent School (asset)
Working Conditions: School/Office Environment, Mac, Google

Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience
3+ years of nursing experience is preferred
Experience in an independent school environment is an asset Comfortable with Mac & Google Applications
